The Golden Eagles, a 501(c)3 foundation supporting the USA Rugby 7s program, believes that competing at the highest level, doesn’t mean your career has to be put on hold. By connecting players to occupational opportunities and encouraging lifelong rugby involvement, we support the holistic development of our country’s athletes. By investing and encouraging players’ growth on- and off- the pitch, they become more well-rounded. Rugby careers are short, and the CARE program ensures the athletes success beyond their playing days. 

Rugby 7s is an Olympic sport with a yearly World Series Circuit holding events in Hong Kong, Singapore, Perth, Dubai, Capetown, Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Madrid. CARE supports players year-round with internships that take place during the offseason or remotely throughout the season.

In order to compete in Rugby 7s and on the World Series, USA Rugby 7’s players enter full-time residency at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center to pursue a rugby playing career. Due to USA Rugby budget constraints, players typically receive less than ideal compensation during training and competition. With the support of the CARE program, players have access to mentors and paid internship opportunities year-round to help them advance their careers simultaneously.
